Synopsis:

Open choice and scalability without the integration hassle - fully
integratable, barrier free. Some real cool features added on.  You can
download Open Solaris for free today and start taking advantage of its
extensive functionality right away, on either on your laptop or PC or
the systems in your lab.

The OpenSolaris is an open source community and a place for
collaboration and conversation around OpenSolaris technology.   The
community represents a wide variety of people around the world,
including developers adding functionality to the system or customizing
the technology for new applications and platforms; system
 administrators
implementing Solaris technology in data centers; educators and students
researching operating systems in universities; and new users exploring
the technology and discovering that OpenSolaris offers new
opportunities.

We will demonstrate some of the cool features and goodies which are
in the Solaris Express Community Edition including the GNOME desktop,
Sun Studio and Netbeans IDEs, basic system administration, ZFS, and
OpenOffice.

We will demo the start up of an Open Solaris installation and provide
tips and guidelines for an effective installation.  We will also
introduce you to the installation resources available on the web.

Meet, greet, get help, give help, join the extended community of
developers using the Solaris operating system. The Source for Solaris
Application Resources and Community contains demos, tutorials, code,
events and the latest articles. All the information you want at your
fingertips for Solaris development.

Find out how to participate in the development of OpenSolaris.  We will
introduce you to the community resources.  You can join blogger like
Jonathan Schwartz (Sun CEO).  You will be familiar with various Open
Solaris technology forums like ZFS, Dtrace, Predictive Self Healing
 etc.

We will give you a brief overview of the Solaris development process.

This network will help you in your quest for knowledge and employment.
